I launched the Kickstarter campaign at just a little past midnight. Naturally, being that it was in the middle of the night, I didn’t expect much traffic, but I felt it was important to do it right: on July 1st.
That adds further complications: since it’s Canada Day, there are a bunch of people who are going to be away or busy with family and/or friends. So, while it’s timely, it’s a double-edged sword.
Despite these potential issues, the Kickstarter campaign has reached the 25% mark within the first 10 hours – 7 or 8 of which most people are still sleeping. So I’m quite thrilled with the results.
In fact, I was so pumped from seeing the kind of support we got, both from friends and total strangers that I just couldn’t sit still. One person told me if he could finance the whole thing himself he would.
Nice. Really touching. We’re doing something right. 🙂
I looked at other campaigns and many are less successful even after a longer stretch of time. If we can just maintain some of that momentum, then we’ll be good. The next few days will be telling.
On another note, Steve has sent in some new thumbnails for Strips 6 and 7. It’s moving along and I’m very pleased with the results. To think that there’s more coming. It’s coming to life, folks.
It’s a really exciting time, and I look forward to seeing how things will unfold.
I hope you are too.
